Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Review

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the Muppet Courtyard. I made a reservation for 3:30pm in the My Disney experience app and checked in as soon as we got to the restaurant. It took about 5 mins for us to be notified our table was ready by text.

We wanted a restaurant that we could relax at for a little during our full day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It was the Friday before Christmas so the park was really packed. We were lucky to get a last minute reservation here a few days before. Reviews online were very mixed on this restaurant but we decided to see for ourselves.

Mama’s Margarita $14.00 Jose Cuervo Tradicional Tequila, Limoncello, Fresh Lime Juice, Sweet-and-Sour, and Orange Juice

Mama’s Caesar Salad $11.00 “Fresh Romaine Lettuce, House-made Caser Dressing, Herb Croutons, and Parmesan

For appetizers we decided on the Crispy Calamari (forgot to take pics, sorry!), Mama’s Ceasar Salad and I had to try Mama’s Margarita. The ceaser salad was fresh and the perfect starter, I would definitely get this again. The drink list was very large with so many tasty looking options. I ended up ordering their signature drink “Mama’s Margarita”, the limoncello was a nice twist!

Charred Strip Steak $33.00 Four-Cheese Macaroni with Pancetta, Aged Balsamic-Shallot Butter, and Chianti Wine Reduction

Oven-Baked Chicken al Parmigiana $25.00 Breaded Chicken Breast with Marinara Sauce topped with Melted Mozzarella over Spaghetti

Spaghetti and Meatballs (kids) $11.00

For the main course I wanted to try the Charred Strip Steak, my mom ordered the Chicken Parm, and my son ordered the Kids portion of the Spaghetti and Meatballs. The Strip steak came beautifully cooked (I ordered it medium rare) and the side of mac and cheese was so creamy and full of flavor the small pieces of pancetta really elevated it. The Chicken parm was crispy and the sauce was so flavorful. My son is 11 and the kids portion of the Spaghetti and meatballs was the perfect size.

The portions were large and we were way too full for dessert and decided to skip it but they had a lot of tasty looking options:

Every single thing was so delicious! I read a review recently comparing it to olive garden and I couldn’t disagree more. I think the food was perfectly cooked and tasted great. Staff was amazing and I can’t wait to go back on my next trip!
